Join local author Paula Becker, opens a new window as she reads from her new memoir, Looking for Betty MacDonald.  Betty MacDonald burst onto the literary scene shortly after the end of World War II. Readers embraced her memoir of her years as a young bride operating a chicken ranch on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, The Egg and I, and the book sold its first million copies in less than a year. The Egg and I has been in print continuously since its publication in 1945.  Paula researched Betty’s life through records in Seattle and Tacoma.  Come hear the stories and learn more about one of the most famous women of the 1940s!
