In February, 1922, these two resided at the Ladies of the Grand Army (of the Republic) Home in Puyallup, the former mansion of Ezra Meeker. The home had opened in 1915 and was a refuge for the wives, daughters, nieces or sisters of any Grand Army veteran. In 1970 the mansion was donated to the Meeker Historical Society.
