TACOMA, WASH— Tacoma Public Library will offer TPL To Go holds pickup, along with other services, at all locations starting on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The TPL To Go holds pickup schedule is as follows:

Tuesday  5 p.m.–7 p.m.
Wednesday  5 p.m.–7 p.m.
Thursday  10 a.m. –12 p.m. and 3 p.m.–5 p.m.
Friday  10 a.m. –12 p.m. and 3 p.m.–5 p.m.
Saturday  10 a.m. –12 p.m. and 3 p.m.–5 p.m.

Patrons will receive email notifications with instructions when their holds are ready to be picked up. If they have questions, they can call their primary library and speak with a staff member.

TPL To Go was offered as a pilot program at three library locations from Thursday, July 23, to Saturday, Aug. 8, allowing library staff opportunity to refine their COVID-19 safety procedures and processes.

“Our ultimate goal in offering this service is to keep our community and staff safe by developing a system with social distancing and minimal contact,” stated Director Kate Larsen.

Although its buildings are closed to the public in Phase 2, Tacoma Public Library has been bustling behind the scenes with welcoming back staff who were temporarily laid off in May.

“Now that most of our staff have returned, we can introduce services like TPL To Go at all of our libraries,” stated Larsen. “We are very excited to have staff returning and to increase our current services to our community.”
