Go Fly a Kite

The seasons are changing and it is time to start going outside…maybe try flying a kite. Young and old do not wait; National Kite Day is on Wednesday, February 8th or if you need a whole month to celebrate April is just around the corner for National Kite Month.

Washington Kitefliers Association , opens a new windowThis is the first kite club in the State of Washington. This group was founded in 1973. They are affiliated with the American Kitefliers Association, a national organization.

American Kitefliers Association (AKA), opens a new window has thousands of members in 25 countries, making it the largest association of kite fliers and kite clubs in the world.

KiteMap.org, opens a new window is a resource for kite fliers worldwide to submit their favorite kite flying locations which can then be searched via a Google map driven database.
