Library staff and patrons filled Peaks & Pints, opens a new window on Thursday, May 25th from 6-9:00 PM for the first ever Friends of Tacoma Public Library benefit. Folks sipped their drinks in front of the large open windows at Peaks & Pints and enjoyed the mild, sunny weather. Redhook Brewery staff were on hand to promote their beer and 1 lucky attendee won Redhook’s raffle for 4 box seats to a Seattle Sounders game. The lucky winner of the library’s trivia contest took home a tote full of books and a Peaks & Pints t-shirt.
The Friends of the Library collected $140 in donations and the proceeds from the kegs donated by Redhook equaled $500. In total, $640 was raised for the Friends of the Library, the main supporter of the library’s summer reading club. It was a successful event and a fun evening for both book and beer lovers alike.
