For the fourth year Tacoma Public Library has reached out to members of the community most in need at the holidays.
The Main branch held a small holiday party Friday, December 22nd prior to the showing of Elf at 1 p.m. Cookies, hot cocoa and snacks were provided for all to enjoy. Cold weather clothing items (scarves, hats, gloves and socks donated primarily by library staff) were also available. Parkland Pacific Dentalopens a new window donated dental hygiene kits, and coffee was donated by coffee roaster and café, Manifesto Coffeeopens a new window, located nearby in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood.
The Main branch has hosted movies every Friday at 1 p.m. since 2014. The Friday closest to Christmas has served as an opportunity to help those who often don't have family to spend the holidays with. Looking for a free activity on a Friday afternoon? Checkout the library calendar for upcoming movies at the Main branch.
