Holiday Party and Movie

For the fourth year Tacoma Public Library has reached out to members of the community most in need at the holidays.

The Main branch held a small holiday party Friday, December 22nd prior to the showing of Elf at 1 p.m. Cookies, hot cocoa and snacks were provided for all to enjoy. Cold weather clothing items (scarves, hats, gloves and socks donated primarily by library staff) were also available. Parkland Pacific Dental, opens a new window donated dental hygiene kits, and coffee was donated by coffee roaster and café, Manifesto Coffee, opens a new window, located nearby in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood.

The Main branch has hosted movies every Friday at 1 p.m. since 2014. The Friday closest to Christmas has served as an opportunity to help those who often don't have family to spend the holidays with. Looking for a free activity on a Friday afternoon? Checkout the library calendar for upcoming movies at the Main branch.
