About HAL

Have a Look at Coding was founded originally as "Kids Code Club" at Tacoma Public Library in October, 2015 .

Our program serves kids ages 8-12 in our introductory program and teens ages 13-18 for more advanced users with older teens serving as mentors.

We use web-enabled learning sites such as scratch.mit.edu and w3schools.com to facilitate group activities and set individual learning objectives.

Yearly Cycle

Our program season begins in September and runs for four months. Following a short break in January we refresh the roster with new students in February.

We do not meet during the summer months of June, July and August.

If our term is more than halfway completed it is advised to wait for the next program cycle to register.

If you would like to pre-register for the February 2021 class cycle please send an email to jhargis@tacomalibrary.org, opens a new window.

We meet via Discord every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time. Please use the purple buttons above to register or join our current meeting in progress.

Our more advanced users are studying Virtual Reality development and meet Saturday in Discord at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time.
